  6. •  Create, compare and tweak any two colors.
  7. •  Duplicate (sample/eyedrop) any screen color.
  8. •  Create web-safe colors.
  9. •  Clip HEX/DEC/WEB/% values or color swatches and paste them into your applications/documents.
  10. •  Paste HEX/DEC/WEB/% values into RGB III and immediately see the results.
  11. •  The tuck-away option shrinks RGB III while retaining most clipboard functions.
  12. •  CUES (bottom-center) tells you what's what and keeps you informed.

  15. What you should know now:

  17. •  Click on any color within a colorBar to create that color.
  18.  
  19. •  To sample (eyedrop) a color outside RGB's window, postition the pointer over the color you want, then
  20.      press the spacebar. Sampled colors are automatically sent to the clipboard as a 32x32 pixel color swatch.

  22. •  The Shader-Saturation control, located top-center, lightens or darkens a color when clicked, or
  23.      saturates/desaturates a color if clicked while the Command (Apple) key is depressed.

  25. •  Copy/Paste functions using the Command and Control keys:
  26.                     •            When the Ibeam cursor is over a field...
  27.           Command-click on a field to copy the field's value.
  28.                                         Control-click on a field to paste a value into the field.
  29.  
  30.                     •            To copy mulitple field values, click one of the "CLIP-3" buttons (below the GREEN value fields).
  31.                     •            To copy (from left to right)  ALL field values, Command-click one of the "CLIP-3" buttons.

  33. •  Press [ RETURN ] or [ ENTER ] after typing a value into a field.

  35. •  The Apple button toggles byte/word/percent values.  Percents are available in the DEC setting only.

  37. •  The three-position Color Depth indicator (above CUES) displays current depth.
  38.                     •            Magenta (top) = millions of colors when lit.
  39.                     •            Light blue (center) = thousands of colors when lit.         
  40.                     •            Green (bottom) = 256 colors when lit, or  216 colors when the WebSafe button (located just below the
  41.          Hex-Dec button) is lit.

  43. •  Tuck-away mode:
  44.                     •  The Option key shrinks/expands RGB III.
  45.                     •   Click on the "clip-it" area in tuck-away mode to display tuck-away options.
  46.     Tuck-away functions and the ability to choose a default window are disabled until registration.

  51. •  The arrow keys on your keyboard adjust the SPEED or RATE at which the  ColorBar or Shader controls
  52.      operate and are active whenever the cursor is over a control or a control is in action.
  53.      Use the L/R arrows for incremental changes and the Up/Dn arrows for larger ones.
  54.     •  ColorBar SPEEDS: 0-100.  Shader RATES:  .01-.50

  56. •  The ColorBar Controls (the small arrows over each ColorBar) alter colors 514 steps at a time.  For
  57.      incremental changes press the Command (Apple) key then click the control.  You can release the key afterwards.
  58.        •  Each ColorBar within a bank displays the range of colors available to it, given its companion settings.

  60. •  All pointers within a bank (left or right) point to the same color.
  61.  
  62. •  When AutoBanker is disabled, you can shift banks by clicking the bank indicator.  When sampling colors or
  63.      using the Shader,  press the SHIFT key to change banks.

  65. •  Click CUES to toggle them ON/OFF.

  67. •  I like to put RGB III in my startup folder when I'm doing a lot of graphics, but prefer to open it in tuck-away
  68.     mode.  After registration the Prefs menu allows choice of a default window (main or tuck).

  70. •  If for any reason RGB III ceases to work, Deinstall RGB III (from the Apple menu) and rerun it.  Open the 
  71.     registration window (press "R" while the main window is open, or choose Register RGB III from the Apple
  72.     menu) and re-enter your serial number.

  77. Conflicts, etc:
  78. •  RAM Doubler 2 and sounds.  These have been fixed.  If you encounter a problem, please report it to me.
  79. •  Changing color depth can sometimes be tricky if other applications are open.  If you have difficulties, close the
  80.     offending application first, or try using the control strip.
  81. •  If you receive an error -39 message after updating to a new version, rerun RGB III.  It may be necessary 
  82.     to re-enter your serial number.

  84. Entering your serial number:
  85. •  You may complete the registration process anytime by typing "R" while RGB III's main window is open,
  86.      or by choosing Register RGB III from the Apple menu.

  88. If you have a credit card, the easiest way to register is online.  Just paste this URL into your browzer: 
  89. <http://order.kagi.com/cgi-bin/register1.cgi?2SD> and fill in Kagi's registration form.  You may use the Register program to register by email, fax or regular mail.  The method you use depends on how you want to pay.  Fill in the form and click the appropriate button.  If you make an error, Register will let you know.  Be sure to use Register 127, available
